Verified ETH and SOL staking rates on MiCA-licensed exchanges

Checked directly against each exchange's own official EU staking page on 14 September 2026, not taken from a third-party aggregator. Rates we could not confirm this way (currently ETH staking on OKX, and both assets on Coinbase) are deliberately left off this list rather than guessed, see the FAQ below.

How this calculator works

Without reinvesting, the reward is simply amount × rate × time. With reinvesting, each payout is added to the balance before the next one is calculated, so later rewards are earned on a slightly larger amount, the standard compound interest formula.

Worked example using a real rate from the table above: staking €1,000.00 in SOL at OKX's verified 4.82% APY, reinvested daily for one year, would earn approximately €49.38, for a final balance of €1,049.38.

What this calculator does not account for

  • A change in the price of the staked asset itself, only the reward in the asset's own units is projected.
  • Validator or slashing risk, which can reduce a staked balance on some networks.
  • Taxes on staking rewards, which vary by country.
  • A platform changing its rate during the period you enter, real rates move with network and market conditions.

FAQ

What does this staking calculator do?

It projects how much a staked amount would grow over a chosen period, given a rate you enter yourself, either as simple (non-reinvested) rewards or compounded at a set frequency. It does not fetch or assume any rate on your behalf.

What is the difference between APY and APR for staking?

APR is the nominal annual rate before compounding. APY is the effective annual return once rewards are reinvested at a given frequency, so APY is always equal to or higher than the APR it is built from. When a platform quotes a single number without saying which one it is, treat it as APY if rewards are auto-compounded, and as APR otherwise.

Does reinvesting staking rewards make a real difference?

Yes, especially at higher rates or over longer periods, because each reward starts earning its own rewards. At low single-digit rates over a year the gap between simple and compounded returns is usually small, but it widens with rate, frequency and time, which is exactly what toggling the compounding setting above shows.

Does a MiCA (CASP) license cover the staking product itself?

Not automatically. Staking-as-a-service is not one of the 10 crypto-asset services named in MiCA (custody, trading platform operation, exchange services, order execution and placement, reception and transmission of orders, advice, portfolio management, transfer services). A CASP license confirms the exchange itself is authorised in the EU, not that its specific staking product is regulated the same way.

What does this calculator not account for?

It does not account for a change in the price of the staked asset itself, validator or slashing risk, taxes, or a platform's staking rate changing during the period you enter. It is a projection of the reward mechanics only, not investment advice.

Which MiCA-licensed exchanges offer ETH or SOL staking?

As of 14 September 2026, we could directly confirm ETH and SOL staking rates on Kraken's own EU pages, and a SOL rate on OKX's EU page. Other platforms may also offer staking, we simply could not yet confirm a current rate directly from their own site, see the comparison table below for what is and is not verified.
